This blog originally started as a chronicle of one librarian’s dating life. But since that dating life proved to be perpetually nonexistent, the posts became fewer and fewer until the blog became more of a record of run-ins with creepy patrons at the library than an actual dating diary.
I’ve since revamped the blog a bit so that’s it’s not just about my half-assed attempt to find love. It’s about trying to find my life’s passion AND pay the bills; about finding Mr. Right AND staying Ms. Independent; about the ups and downs of friendship; about surviving the loss of my mom; about my endless attempts to change my diet and lifestyle; and about pretty much everything that a twentysomething goes through.
All you need to know is that I’m a late twentysomething girl working in a small public library in North Carolina. I am not married/coupled up (unlike most of my friends). I do not have kids, nor am I sure I ever want kids (contrary to most women my age). I went to grad school to be a librarian but often doubt my passion for it (unlike many other librarians). And I lost my mother to ovarian cancer last year and have since been figuring out just who I, my Dad, and my brother are without her.
Follow along while I rant, rave, laugh, cry, get pissed off, piss people off, and ponder the inner workings of the Universe.
You can also follow me on Twitter, if you’re into that sort of thing.
I also write for a fun”news” site called The Inept Owl. Check it out.
